Should You Buy a PS5 vs Xbox Series X
There has been a lot of hype about the PS5 vs Xbox Series X consoles, the next-generation is all about power, speed and highly impressive visuals. Neither the PS5 nor the Xbox Series X has the price confirmed, but it is expected that both will be around $400 to $500, having said this there’s no way to be sure until the price is announced. It is anticipated that both Microsoft and Sony intend to launch their consoles during the 2020 holiday season. Sony has created a pre order system which will not actually pre order the console but will put you on a mailing list and send notification when you can actually pre order. With the demand expected to be high, it may be a good idea to do this if you have your heart set on buying the PS5.
There’s so much yet to learn about the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
From what we know so far, the PS5 can push through data at 5.5 GB per second, compared to the Xbox Series X, which works at 2.4GB per second. That could mean marginally faster load times, and less time spent on a loading screen. Both consoles are evenly matched elsewhere. They each have 16 GB of memory and support 4K and 8K resolution gaming. While there is a lot yet to be decided, the Xbox Series X and PS5 are on a pretty level playing field.
The specs for the PS5 don't quite hold up to the Xbox Series X, however Sony continues to have the more popular line up of exclusive titles. For nostalgic gamers, the Xbox Series X offers considerably more backward compatibility.
To summarise, this is looking to be a much closer competition than the Xbox One vs. PS4 was when they were both launched and we can’t wait to see both consoles in action!
